The final version of my lost and confused illustration. Decided to drop the tattoo's because taking away from the type and making the whole piece to busy to look at. I had the all seeing eye in one of my rough drawings from awhile back think it helped balance out the rest of the illustration by giving your eye away of following the drawings composition.

Stupid computer

Stupid computer has been nothing but unhelpful pain in my side today with it constantly crashing whiles I doing work.

Rose Coloured Hill Illustration

Seem the guys at Micheal Anderson have like what I have been doing and asked if I would do an illustration for there other song Rose Coloured Hill. First few drawings had a bit too much of a fantasy element to them so toned the idea back want to keep it simply sticking to just reds, pinks and some purples for the colours. Having just the one element of the woman folding the rose I thinks sums up the songs without have to add more piece to get the same idea across.

Development of my idea

Try to always draw out my ideas and textures. After I have sketched it out I go into Photoshop clean and re-sketch I'll play with different brushes with these drawing I used a brush that has like a 2hb pencil.


Some colour mock up to. By now I have been look at this drawing to long and all I see is a flat drawing and a hippy shirt. Now its of to look for some reference so that I can give the drawing some more detail cause the hand with the case looks to short and this finger look like someone has cut them off.

This is coming along better has more presence then that last drawing and the extra bits of detail give in more pop.

I'm thinking of the back cover of the cd design needs to link with the front image but be it one idea. Having the cast with in just sitting their will be a good idea.

This idea has certainly change a lot since my first sketches it still retains that darker theme but at the sometime has that vivid colour scheme which seem to become a thing of mine. Original the fire was going to be a big shadow but that was working of me I like how the fire fills in the gaps of the characters body plus he has awesome brave heart battle paint under his right eye. Next steps will be to draw the eyes and add some text some where and think of away to improve the background cause it rather dull at the moment.

I hate that feeling you get when you take a break from a long day of sitting at your computer thinking yeah what I did today was awesome, now with some fresh perceptive all the work I did is just horrible. Oh well now its time to go forth and make it better.

Why did I think painting would be easy it never is like fricking tennis serving all it is throwing a ball in the air and hitting it us hard us possible bugger the whole in out line crap.  At this stage I just want to go steal someone like James Jeans hand and make them do the awesome which I’m not capable of  soon us I cant I’ll continue trying to get the look right just take me a loooog time.
